The Federal Signal SmartMSG dispatch console system is a client tool to facilitate and organize multiple first responder communication groups. This comprehensive system offers the added ability to set audio options and audio playback for these groups. This SmartMSG software-based system enables users to set up and communicate with talk groups and standby channels. The dispatch console system is useful for communicating with large numbers of users instantly.
Talk groups and standby channels are real-time communications like instant messages (IM) conducted among SmartMSG system users and contacts. Unlike IM communications, SmartMSG communications are encrypted to ensure the messages are secure and communications can be made across a wide range of devices, such as mobile, smart phone, satellite, land-line, PBX and VoIP phones, PDAs, computers and two-way radios.
A talk group chat session can be conducted with other dispatcher-invited SmartMSG users and can include multiple users or devices. The Dispatcher can also maintain standby channels with specific contacts and SmartMSG system users to keep the lines of communication open. Standby channels provide one-to-one communication between the dispatcher and the standby channel.
The combination of talk groups and standby channels enable dispatchers to initiate mission-critical communications in an instant, and to immediately engage others in talk groups for secure, live-communications during an incident.
The Codespear-enabled SmartMSG dispatch console system is part of the Federal Signal Public Safety Systems industry platform.
